Okay, so last week's email was super rushed! Sorry about that!! I need to do the email before I send pictures! ha So, I want to catch you up on a couple other things that I really wanted to write about last week.. One of them being this AMAZING experience we had on checking on a referral that was given to us from President Taylor! :) We had heard great things about him including that he was nominated as "Most Outstanding Man in Oklahoma" (or something like that :) ) So we knew he would be great and were excited to meet him. We ended up going to the place he worked (because that's all that was listed) and before we went in to meet him, we said a prayer. I prayed that he would see something different about us and see the light that we have about us (the Spirit told me to do that :) ) etc... And when we went in he greeted us kindly and we explained who we were and who referred us to him and he was SO nice!! :) He is very active in the church he goes to but was willing to listen to us and was very kind. And it was so amazing because at one point I felt prompted to show him this picture I have of our family with the temple on the back of it and so I did! :) And when I showed it to him he said, "Wow, you all radiate!" he continued, "My wife and I always talk about how you all have a light about you and all seem to glow!" :) .... Ummm.. Answer to Prayer!!!! :) Isn't that AMAZING!!??! :) It was so amazing!!! :) I of course thanked him and we told him there was a reason for that and we would love to share more with him! :) He took our number down (since he was at work) and said he would call us if he wanted to know more. ... It. was. AMAZING!!! :) When we walked back out to the car I was astonished and so excited that he had said that and NOTICED it!! :) So way to be family!! :) YOU RADIATE!!!! :) And that is TRUE!!! :) I LOVE that picture even MORE now!! :) I love you all SOOOOO much!!!! :) Thank you for living in such a way that people may recognize the light that you have about you and that you truly 'glow' with the Spirit and light of Christ! :) Keep it up! :) It TRULY makes a difference! :) I love it! And I love you!! :)
Another great experience I had last week, I touched on in the last email, but want to go into greater detail.. The opportunity to bear my testimony in SPANISH!! :) Okay, so everyone knows how sad I was that I didn't get called Spanish speaking (but once I came out on my mission I realized that my mission is perfect for me! :) so it's okay now! I LOVE English speaking in the Oklahoma City Mission! :) ) But when we were at the library the other day we were about to walk out but felt prompted to talk to this guy that was next to us, so we did. And he was the sweetest guy ever!! :) He agreed to meet with us that week and when we did it was great! We had a great lesson about the Book of Mormon and helped him understand it more and how to read it etc. And was pretty good at understand English but you could tell he understood Spanish better. And so at the end I felt REALLY prompted to bear my testimony in Spanish and so I asked him if I could and he said yes. And let me tell you.. the Spirit was SOOO strong!! It was amazing!! :) And SUCH a testimony to me that even the simplest and smallest testimonies of the gospel make a BIG difference!! :) In the lives of those we bear them to and in our OWN lives!! :) It was amazing!! :) I bore my testimony about the Book of Mormon and that I know it is the word of God! :) I said I know the Church of Jesus Christ is true and that the prophet Joseph Smith is a prophet of God! :) It was amazing and I can testify that I do know that these things are true!! :) And I know that by the power of the Holy Ghost! :) I KNOW that as we study things out in our mind, feel good about them in our hearts, make a decision, and sincerely ASK God if what we've decided is True, that He WILL let us know! :) And He will let us know by the power of the Holy Ghost! :) (Moroni 10:4-5) That warm, good, peaceful feeling inside. You will FEEL that is is right! :) (D&C 9:8) I have done this and KNOW that the Book of Mormon is true! :) I invited each one of us to do this often to continue to strengthen our testimonies of the Book of Mormon! :) I know how important a testimony and conversion are to the gospel ESPECIALLY being out on a mission. I testify that any sacrifice or effort needed to know, live, love, and share the gospel is worth it!! :) I promise that you WILL see the blessings FLOW into you lives FREELY as you do so! :)
This week was amazing as well! :) We were blessed with great lessons and experiences! :) One being that this man we felt prompted to talk to was sitting with his wife in the family history center part of the library and was studying different books and writing things down. We asked them if they had a few minutes for us to share a scripture with them and they said yes! :) We talked to them a little bit and asked them if they knew about the Book of Mormon? She said yes! And opened up her folder and PULLED OUT A BOOK OF MORMON!!! :) She also pulled out a bunch of papers about one of her great great great etc. grandfathers who is a MEMBER of our Church and KNEW ORSON HYDE when he was a missionary!!! :) This relative of hers was drawn to Orson Hyde and his enthusiasm and dedication to missionary work and became a member of the Church!! :) How amazing is that??! :) This lady is Catholic but we had a great experience being able to share with her what we know (and her ancestor) knows is TRUE!! :) Heavenly Father truly KNOWS and LOVES each of His children and places them in the right spot at the right time!! :) It's amazing whose paths we cross each day! :) You never know who's ready and who's been prepared by the Lord until you ask them!! :) I love it!! :) Missionary work is truly a work of miracles!! :) I love seeing them everyday!! What a blessing!! :) His tender mercies are truly in each of our lives each day!! :) We just have to be open and looking for them! :) I love it! :) The Church is TRUE!! :)
